Honda dealer charges inspection fees
I had a problem with my Civic (Threescore 06) while when it had 60K mileage (Aug. 2008) that was fixed under the iii-yr warranty. Recently the result cam dorsum and I could hear a riddling audio in the suspension area - especially when driving over street bumps.
Today, I called up the dealer to schedule an A1 maintenance and mentioned the upshot, and he goes on telling me that I have to pay 60$ for inspection fees and the outcome may need to be addressed from my ain pocket. Cut the conversation short, I decided to set everything up and speak to the service manager on the inspection 24-hour interval.
What are my options? The outcome was fixed when the vehicle was nether warranty, the vehicle now has 115k mileage...would it possible they wont dorsum out of their set and I end paying for the whole matter...simply cause it has been 2 years since the fix.

Firstly, you are out of warranty, of course you will have to pay for the repairs. You didn't remember they would fix your car for costless?
Any you had fixed in 2008 may non be the trouble or you may have broken it over again.
Yes, they accuse you by the hour for inspection and repair. Commonly they volition blot the inspection (diagnostic) fee if you lot go the piece of work done. They are not going to diagnose your problem for gratuitous so you can go out and go someone else to exercise the work?
You have options but they all are the same when it comes to paying...you drive, you break, you lot pay.

I wouldn't become to Honda.
A1 is oil change and tire rotation.
For oil alter:
Walmart has mobile 1 synthetic 5w-20 for $31 bux right now (better than oil Honda uses), grab an oil filter and crush nut from Honda dealer and your good to become. All done less than $40 bux, PM me if you need details.
Tire rotation:
but jack upwardly your car and rotate fronts to rears, rears to fronts.
After done, check your manual, there'south instructions on how to reset error code. I'grand besides lazy to bank check right at present.
And for the racket, does it sound like a pulsating worn/flat tire? eighth gen civics take a recall on rear wheel beerings, these should be replaced free of accuse.
To know if it's beerings, jack upwards your motorcar, take off the tire of where u call up the noise is coming from, then with your mitt, in a fast motion rotate the hubs, if you hear that racket (but of course lighter sounding because slower rotation than driving), so it's the beerings. Go to Honda (try to sound like you know your stuff) and tell them you lot want your beerings replaced on the recall.
But and so again, it could be a whole diff issue, hard to diagnose not being there.

Why would the Honda/dealer comprehend this issue as the car is out of warrantee?
No warrantee means, Honda has no responsibility for the car. (Edit: Except if there is a recall).
Even if you lot paid to take something stock-still, the dealer will only warrantee the gear up for 90 days. (Information technology is written on the service orders/invoices).
If you wanted to save some money perhaps go to 1 of the contained mechanics/shops recommended by RFDers. They do a good job and their charges are reasonable.

Lets get this straight, you want a warranty for work done almost two yrs and 55k kms ago?
They fixed what they did just to get past the warranty period, afterward that, you lot're on your own.
Sad when ppl actually purchase into the myth that Honda's are indestructible.
